The Challenge:
Susquehanna Valley Door & Window is a window and door replacement company located in York, PA. This particular company just opened their doors in 2015 and are faced with fierce competition. The competition is a nationwide company with seemingly unlimited money to spend on advertising. Also, the competition is very savvy online. They know about SEO and they’re taking full advantage of it.
The second challenge is that this business is on a very limited budget. Money is extremely tight for this company and they needed the phone to ring fast. This company knew that people were searching for window installation companies on Google and they wanted to figure out the most efficient and effective way to get a steady stream of ready-to-buy costumers.
The Solution: A Complete Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Strategy
1. Analysis
We took a look at their website and also checked out the local competition. They were right. The national companies were ranking locally and their websites had great metrics. We took a deeper look into their competitor’s backlinks using majestic and determined that there was an opportunity to rank. It didn’t seem like the completion was taking advantage of SEO to the fullest.
2. Build a New SEO-Friendly Website
We built them a website with all of the SEO friendly factors in mind. The site is based on window installation as the main service and door installation as the secondary service. We included the main service pages, an about us page contact page etc. We gave them the basic WordPress site while making sure to include other on-page factors such as page speed, reduced crawl errors, logical site structure etc.
3) Add Listings
After we put up the website we started building the main listings according to MOZ. Since this customer isn’t lucky enough to have deep pockets we used an inexpensive tool by MOZ to help them build their main listings. MOZ is one of the most trusted SEO companies in the industry. We decided to use their tools based on effectiveness and affordability.
4) Link Building
After adding the important listings using the MOZ local tool we started building links. If you’ve read other case studies you’ll begin to see a pattern. Building links are the single most important part of SEO. We strongly believe that after you clean up a site and your listings you need to focus on linking building.
When a website has a link to the content that you can click and it will take you to another site that other site will receive SEO benefits and ranking increases. Adding a link to another site is like saying you can vouch for that website. If you have more high-quality websites linking to your site you’ll rank higher in the search engines.

The Result: Page 1 Rankings in Google and a List of Phone Calls!
